The Best of LA is Waiting for You...
Discover Santa Monica, Venice Beach, & More!
Located just a few miles away from the Marina del Rey Hotel,
explore our word-famous LA beaches - offering miles of golden sand,
people-watching, a vibrant boardwalk, crashing waves, and California sunshine.
During the summer season and on weekends, there is plenty of entertainment at
every corner along the Ocean Front Walk, including instrumental musicians,
singers, jugglers, acrobats, mimes, comics, magicians, prophets, and
fortune-tellers. After all, this area is home to the most amazing street
entertainers in the world!
The Venice Beach boardwalk is famous for its hard-core bodybuilders. Home to both amateur and professional bodybuilders, explore Muscle Beach and Gold’s Gym, the place where Arnold Schwarzenegger was first discovered! Today, Muscle Beach is an open playground with a gated area that encloses weight lifting equipment, while the other area includes a sand box with gymnastic, rope climbing, and acrobatic bars.
Playa del Rey
Located just a few miles south of our hotel is Playa del
Rey, a seaside town great for beaching & boutique shopping. Indulge your
taste buds to the savory flavors of this seaside town and check out their local
cafes & taverns.
Slightly shorter than a flight to Italy, walk along the beautiful Venice Canals that wind through a neighborhood of beautiful homes. This area also features scenic bridges that are ideal for photos! Looking for a little history in LA? The Venice Canals are now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and have appeared in many feature films, including Valentine's Day, Because I Said So, and more.
Abbot Kinney Boulevard
Abbot Kinney Boulevard is a famous shopping area between Main Street and North Venice Boulevard. Home to décor shops, vintage clothing, and many boutique stores, Abbot Kinney is known for its casual vibes with pricey tags. In addition, visitors can now enjoy Abbot Kinney First Fridays, where you can support the small businesses at one of LA’s most popular art walks!
Santa Monica Pier
Santa Monica is truly the perfect beach town. Featuring a 3.5-mile beach, it offers plenty of sand for summer crowds, as well as lifeguard stations, restrooms, and nearby restaurants. Santa Monica is famous for its Pier, boasting a 9-story solar-powered Ferris wheel and a 5-story roller coaster. Play arcade games, get an ice cream cone, and just take in the sights. Make sure to gaze out at the water, as it’s not unusual to see dolphins at play!
Third Street Promenade
The Third Street Promenade is blocked off to traffic so pedestrians can easily walk the streets and enjoy the sunshine, movies, and various restaurants. There are endless upscale boutiques and chic sidewalk cafes, while various street performers entertain the crowds. In addition to shopping and dining, the Promenade hosts a number of lovely bookshops, antique stores, and souvenir shops.
